The Racism In Othello

Othello play is a really good, interesting and suspense. Othello was a good person, with a lot of experience on the war and in love of Desdemona, but the racism in Venetia gave him a lot of problems. This play has indirect racism involved, and we can see it behind every problem. In this essay I am going to prove that if Venetia had no racism, this play could have another finish. This essay will approve that all problems Othello has was because of racism.

Othello is a very interesting and full of different sentiments. One problem that really takes the play to another level was the racism. In this play Othello has a lot of problems that he can`t do anything. The first problem starts because Othello is a black man involved in a world of white man; he looks different than the others. He moved to this culture in Venetia were there are only the rich men, white men or people that had studies can be on the top social and cultural. A lot of people like Iago thinks that Othello can`t be at this level because he is black man and in this society never had something like him. Some people never said anything about Othello because he is the general and the don`t want to have any problem.

Othello was a good guy and he was a good soldier too, he had a lot of experience on the war and he was called Moor, was a general and commander of the Venetian armed forces. After this, more problems started because although he was a good person, people looked at him only as a good soldier, but not as a person that could cualify to be at a high level in the Venetian society. The is like in the movie O`s, Odin demonstrated to be the greatest in the team, the most valuable player of the team. Still he was in a world that weren’t his.

The people in Othello respected him and the people on O`s respected Odin, but they always had the racism implicit. They always would be a like with him but when he took a decision that others did not like, immediately they said some phrase that easily we can see racism. The first racism phrase in this play was: is when he’s talking to Brabantio about Othello and Desdemona, “Even now, very now, an old black ram is tupping your white ewe”. Now I am going to give another expression of racism: “Blacker devil”, “Thick-lips”. There`s many of them in this play and it clearly give us take a look that racism were on everyplace.
Another argument that really shows us racism was, when he weds with the senator daughter. Their marriage was undercover. If they doesn`t wed undercover, I think this marriage was going to be better because in the movie O`s when Hugo started with the lies at first, what he said to Odin was that he knew the white girls. This was like “you aren`t from this culture, you don`t know these women”. These things create insecurity in Othello because he started thinking that she was unfaithful because she wanted to be with a man like her. Othello never felt completely secure because he knew that in any moment somebody could betray him and by this point he gave all his trust to Iago thinking that he was a really good friend.

To conclude my essay I think that racism, pressured him to give trust to the wrong person and this took him to make bad decision and finished with this tragic result. This essay shows in Venetia was implicit and this make Othello have a lot of problems. When he killed himself it was like a subliminal message, that if there`s any black person in Venetia everything would be fine.

You make a good essay and I agreed with you. In the play are many insinuations of racism and you with arguments from the play and the movie prove that. You have to check a little your grammar but the most is good.
